it’s been a somewhat interesting week around these parts. due mostly to the fact we haven’t had internet service since last friday or so. verizon keeps saying they are gonna fix stuff but as yet they haven’t. i’m doing this at the ulo place. verizon has changed out 3 modems and done a few other things at the house but still no service. service which has been intermittent since last november. a royal pain in the ass. yeah, that’s you verizon.
dad and i did the oral history thing at the cuca library last week. we were only supposed to get 5 or 10 minutes but things stretched into around 30 minutes. dad was off on the memory trail and it was sorta hard to keep him on point. we shared the stage but i mostly just let him have his head.
it might have gone a bit better but the library folks doing the project only asked us one question. so it was up to us to more or less just wing it. and wing it is what dad did. i had a hard time trying to get some stuff in that dad wasn’t covering and i missed a few things. it will be interesting to see just how they edited the session when we get a copy of the dvd. we’re also invited to the premiere party for the project video at the end of june. that should be interesting evening.
we got around to visiting mom’s grave site yesterday morning. we also made a stop at the brown eyed girl’s dad’s resting place isn’t that far from mom’s. at any rate, it was a hard trip for dad. he had been fine earlier but seeing mom’s grave really broke him up. it shook him up pretty good. though he’s doing better now.
depending on just how soon verizon gets their collective act together will depend on when i get back here. so, until then,
keep the faith, baby.
